Supporting the Community

Updated: Sep 18, 2023

I love building relationships with people in the creative community as well as my neighbors and colleagues. When I was first starting RF Designs, I took inspiration from many artists, woodworkers, and creatives I found on social media and online. This lead me to find a plethora of new businesses around the country, as well as in the Southern California area. As I become more established as a small business, there are four special companies that I'd like to highlight that have been critical to my journey as a creator.

STREET TREE REVIVAL

A local wood company that saves and repurposes lumber from dead or damaged trees.

A little over a year ago, I found Street Tree Revival online. I was mesmerized by their beautiful selection of wood and loved their mission statement of "making every effort to save trees from ending up in landfills." I am extremely conscious of the waste I am producing as a creator and try my best to make my workshop a zero-waste space.

As locals of Southern California, my husband and I now make it a point to visit Street Tree Revival in Anaheim once a month to curate our "scrap wood" collection and dedicate it to creating new, upcycled pieces.

I highly recommend visiting their website to learn more about their business.

EYE CANDY PIGMENTS

A pigment company focusing on providing makers with pigments and powders to make their projects pop.

Eye Candy Pigments has been an essential piece to my products for years now... and will be for years to come! I love how supportive they are of creators. I appreciate that they even take the time to promote smaller creators, like myself, on social media and other areas.

Their pigments are extremely saturated, giving me the ability to use less product while creating more products. They also offer a great sample selection, so you can test out their pigments before purchasing their larger sizes.

Check out their website to see their surplus of products.

CRAFTED ELEMENTS

A family-owned business that started as a way to supply makers with the quality molds and templates they need to create.

Crafted Elements has been a new favorite business of mine. Their templates and molds are easy to use and they provide so many shapes and sizes to fuel my creativity. Much like Eye Candy Pigments, I greatly appreciate how willing they are to showcase small makers that utilize their products.

Having recently purchased a few new templates, I will slowly be implementing them into my arsenal and hope to announce some new products soon!

If you're in the market for some new templates and molds, I suggest looking at their website.

THE EPOXY RESIN STORE

A local, family-owned business specializing in developing and distributing the finest epoxy resins available.

Over the years, I've tried a ton of different resin products, and The Epoxy Resin Store is by far the best resin I've used. I love that their resin is "LOW VOC, Virtually odorless, durable against scratches, self-leveling, thick, and formulated to protect against yellowing, fading, and cracking."

As a Southern California resident, I am so happy they are local and I am proud to support their family-owned and operated business.

I now only use The Epoxy Resin store as my resin supplier and advocate for new and seasoned resin users to consider making the switch!

Thank you to all of the businesses above for supporting my growing small business!
